All About Brownies

We have had 8 new Brownies join us this term.

They will make their Brownie Promise and

receive their promise badges that we wear

on our sash. We learn lots of things at

Brownies including, songs, games, crafts and how

to help others and how to work as a team

within our sixes. We also learn new skills to earn

badges for activities like entertainment, fire safety

and more!

The Brownie Promise

I promise that I will do my best:

To love my God,

To serve the Queen and my country,

To help other people

and

To keep the Brownie Guide law.

As Brownies we try to keep this Promise and remember it every day to help us to help others!

Activities this Term

Some of the things we have done this term include an evening at kids kingdom, swimming at Sweyne Park School and a sleepover at Guidewoods in Hockley as well as taking part with other groups in Church Parades.

Here’s what some of the girls thought of the sleepover and other activities!!

On the 4th of November I went to Hockley woods for a sleepover. I liked the bunk beds we slept in and I slept on the bottom and my friend slept at the top. I also liked the food and the fact that we could cook it ourselves. I enjoyed doing my jobs, which were laying the table and being a hostess. I also enjoyed going outside and collecting leaves and twigs. We used these to make patterns. The only things I didn’t like were the ghost stories and the fact that we kept getting told off for talking in bed!

Swimming at Sweyne   Park

We went to Sweyne Park swimming pool. We had fantastic fun splashing each other. It was very deep at the deep end but we had great fun. We had to swim, float and tread water to get our swimmers badge.

Kids Kingdom Evening

On 9th November my Brownie went to kids kingdom with lots of other packs. We all played together and had a really good time. When our parents came to pick us up, we were all very hot and sweaty and tired! I hope we go again soon!

And Finally!!

The 4th Downhall Brownies and Leaders, Jennie and Assistant leader Denise and all our helpers, would like to wish everyone a Happy Christmas and we look forward to a great New Year full of fun!!!
