Their attitude and Customer-Care simply sucks.
By Catherine Lander

Compared to some of the stories we have just read our complaints seem pretty futile, however here goes:-

Saturday before Christmas we went into dixons in our town to see if they had any reduced camcorders (we are going on honeymoon to Kenya in May) there were two although one had already been sold. they were selling these off for 148 each - bargain except we decided that we wanted a new one - not an ex display if other people were getting these for 148 new. The foetus that served us said it was the last one. He did not explain that this was the reason why it was so cheap, he actually told us they were discontinued stock and so were getting rid of them to allow for new stock. My fiance argued that he would give them 140 as it was an ex-display. The foetus refused point blank. We left, annoyed.

We drove the next day to another dixons in the hope the same camcorder would be the same price but new. We were served by yet another foetus who was serving us (apparently!) but was so busy dancing in front of a 1000 digital camcorder that his assistant foetus was displaying the functions to another customer he couldn't really be bothered with our enquiries into this one. We left - very annoyed!

Back to our original shop to buy the original camcorder. It had been sold. We asked if there were anymore to be brought down in price and at this point were told that the reason it was so cheap was because it was ex-display. if we had known that the day before we would have bought it. My fiance was getting a little cross by this point! They tried to fob us of with excuses but we left again very very annoyed.

To another dixons which were just as uncooperative. So we went to a Currys.

They had a nice ex-display minus everything box, instructions, battery, leads, charger, polystyrene- the lot, but it was a bargain at 99 - we thought! It had been reduced from 198. However when we looked into buying everything in pattern parts (not the originals that actually come with a new camcorder it cost us 199! )

But we still agree we did get a bargain. We tried to make the snotty manager drop the price a little because of the inconvenience of buying pattern parts, and having to order them by phone but he was adamant, saying that ordering the parts was easy. We did buy it and it was a pretty good one, until going to PARTSMASTER for the said unaccompanied bits we needed, like crucial parts like scart leads and instruction books. After playing musical telephone numbers with about 7 different places that were not PARTSMASTER as they only do batteries and rechargers. I finally got through to a lady called vilia who was more helpful than all the foetuses put together. she said that as it was discontinued (yes very easy) it would be hard but she found all the parts for me and has sent them on - congratulations to her.

To cap it all, I also bought 'who wants to be a millionaire' for my father for Christmas, for his computer. It wouldn't play although the requirements stated were right. we took it back receipt and all.

Another day - another foetus served us. He smugly put it on a brand new computer and guess what - it played, he then refused on the grounds that we may have copied it, to give us a refund. My fiance said one thing to him - MANAGER. foetus number five explained to his boss and the boss took one look at our furious faces and gave us a refund.

There are several things we want to buy in dixons but they can forget it and We agree we are never buying from dixons or currys again.
